Instant Pot Rice

Making rice is so fast, so simple, and virtually fool-proof when you use an Instant Pot.

Soaking rice has been shown to reduce phytic acid and arsenic levels. It’s an easy step that takes just a bit more forethought and almost no added effort. You can start soaking the rice the night before, or in the morning the day you need it.

Using homemade chicken broth in place of water not only adds nutrients, it makes the rice so flavorful and delicious!

A quick and fool-proof way to make delicious rice in an Instant Pot!

Equipment

  • Instant Pot

Materials

  • 2 cups rice
  • 2 cups chicken stock

Instructions

  • Rinse rice thoroughly with cool water.
  • Add rice and chicken stock to the Instant Pot.
  • Secure the lid and press the "rice" function button.
  • Allow pressure to naturally release for 10 minutes after cooking time has ended. Then, manually release and remove the lid.
  • Fluff with a fork and serve!

Notes

-to improve the digestibility of your rice, soak it first! About 8-10 hours before you want to cook your rice, pour the dry grains into a large bowl. Cover with lukewarm water and add a splash of apple cider vinegar (about 1 Tbsp per cup of rice). Top with a lid and allow to soak until it is time to prepare it. Simply dump the rice into a fine mesh sieve and follow the instructions above!
